Hawaii Fans: Sugar Bowl Packages? What do you think of those outrageous package prices to the Sugar Bowl Game? -Did you buy a package deal from the local travel agencies? how much did you spend? or -did you opt in buying flight/car/hotel seperately? I think those who bought the package when it was like around $1000-$1500 are the lucky few!
19 renting a car through expedia for hawaii? I am 19 years old and plan on going to hawaii, I know that car rental companies won't rent cars to people younger than 21 except for some odd ball companies, BUT I was reading that people get away with it by renting cars with their packages through expedia or other travel agency sites. If anybody knows for sure if this will work please let me know asap! thanks!
The best site for discount vacation travel? I need to book a vacation package to Hawaii. Does anyone know of the best or cheapest websites for discount travel, except for Travelocity, Orbitz, and Expedia. Please let me know from your experience which is best, even if it is among the 3 that I just mentioned. But I'm really looking for one of those sites or companies that people rarely know about (if it exists). Thanks!

I'm going to backpack in Hawaii and want the cheapest way to island hop? I'm going to backpack in Hawaii and want cheap inter-island travel. I want to visit the islands and so a package deal would be useful but I purely want flights/boats, i.e. no hotels, transport from airport etc. Flexibility with the interisland travel would also be useful, you know book a round travel ticket from one date to another but I can travel whenever between the islands, if that makes sense. Any help with this would be great!

When is the best time to book online for a trip to Hawaii in June? I'm planning my honeymoon and I want to go to two islands in Hawaii (The Big Island and Maui) so I'm using Expedia.com because its the only travel site that allows you to book a flight and a hotel to multiple destinations within one "trip" I look online everyday and keep finding different prices for the same travel package. Does anyone know when the best time to book is? When do prices tend to fluctuate towards the cheaper end of the spectrum? Someone told me that in the middle of the night on Thursdays is when flights update their prices and it might be cheaper then, has anyone heard this before? Also any other advice is welcome. Thanks!

Travel Agents Joke...? These are actual stories from travel agents about their idiot customers... Someone ask for an aisle seat so that his or her hair wouldn't get messed up by being near the window. A client called in inquiring about a package to Hawaii. After going over all the cost info, she asked, "Would it be cheaper to fly to California and then take the train to Hawaii?" I got a call from a man who asked, "Is it possible to see England from Canada?" I said, "No." He said "But they look so close on the map." Another man called and asked if he could rent a car in Dallas. When I pulled up the reservation, I noticed he had a 1-hour layover in Dallas. When I asked him why he wanted to rent a car, he said, "I heard Dallas was a big airport and I need a car to drive between the gates to save time." A nice lady just called. She needed to know how it was possible that her flight from Detroit left at 8:20am and got into Chicago at 8:33am. I tried to explain that Michigan was an hour ahead of Illinois, but she could not understand the concept of time zones. Finally I told her the plane went very fast, and she bought that! A woman called and asked, "Do airlines put your physical description on your bag so they know whose luggage belongs to who?" I said, "No, why do you ask?" She replied, "Well, when I checked in with the airline, they put a tag on my luggage that said FAT, and I'm overweight, is there any connection?" After putting her on hold for a minute while I "looked into it" (I was actually laughing) I came back and explained the city code for Fresno is FAT, and that the airline was just putting a destination tag on her luggage. I just got off the phone with a man who asked, "How do I know which plane to get on?" I asked him what exactly he meant, which he replied, "I was told my flight number is 823, but none of these darn planes have numbers on them. A woman called and said, "I need to fly to Pepsi-cola on one of those computer planes." I asked if she meant to fly to Pensacola on a commuter plane. She said, "Yeah, whatever." A businessman called and had a question about the documents he needed in order to fly to China. After a lengthy discussion about passports, I reminded him he needed a visa. "Oh no I don't, I've been to China many times and never had to have one of those." I double checked and sure enough, his stay required a visa. When I told him this he said, "Look, I've been to China four times and every time they have accepted my American Express." A woman called to make reservations, "I want to go from Chicago to Hippopotamus, New York." The agent was at a loss for words. Finally, the agent: "Are you sure that's the name of the town?" "Yes, what flights do you have?" replied the customer. After some searching, the agent came back with, "I'm sorry, ma'am, I've looked up every airport code in the country and can't find a Hippopotamus anywhere." The customer retorted, "Oh don't be silly. Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!" The agent scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, "You don't mean Buffalo, do you?"
How do you get married in Hawaii? I have no clue how to do all the arrangements.? I need to know how to get married in Hawaii. I have been researching and found the website to go to and pick the island and they have wedding packages. Now the hard part is…. 1.Neither one of us has every travel far from home. We are located in Maryland. Do we need a passport? If we need a passport how do we get one? We have never been on a plane before-we have no idea how to make arrangements. 2. How do we schedule the plane to and from, where we will stay? And reserve a car ? How can we make this process easy, and stress free ? We have NO CLUE on how to do this. PLEASE PLEASE help.
Has anyone ever heard of this corporate travel dept or is it a scam? My work recieved a fax from some corporate travel dept for three vacations for the price of one! You get to go on a 4 day 3 night cruise to the bahamas, 3 days 2 nights in daytona beach, FL, 5 days 4 nights in Orlando, and a choice to mexico, hawaii, or vegas. Only $99 per person! There are only 50 packages available. Its suppose to be some corporate rate. I called the place and they said that it comes out to about $350 with all the fees and the two $99 charges.. Does this sound like a scam? Has anyone ever heard of this company??
Actual stories from travel agents about their moronic customers...? Someone ask for an aisle seat so that his or her hair wouldn't get messed up by being near the window. Acutal calls to travel agents? I had someone ask for an aisle seats so that his or her hair wouldn't get messed up by being near the window. A client called in inquiring about a package to Hawaii. After going over all the cost info, she asked, "Would it be cheaper to fly to California and then take the train to Hawaii?" I got a call from a woman who wanted to go to Capetown. I started to explain the length of the flight and the passport information when she interrupted me with "I'm not trying to make you look stupid, but Capetown is in Massachusetts. "Without trying to make her look like the stupid one, I calmly explained, "Capecod is in Massachusetts, Capetown is in Africa." Her response ... click. We want to get married in Maui, Hawaii (Wailea) in July? My fiance and I want to get married this summer, end of June or early to mid July, in Maui, Hawaii. I like the Wailea area. Ultimately, I'd like to stay at the Grand Wailea but am open to other resorts (although we could marry at the resort or have the ceremony elsewhere but stay there instead). I've always wanted a candlelight ceremony and in a church or chapel. I'd also prefer to have a pastor marry us. We're not super religious but we want it to be a holy ceremony or have religious elements to the ceremony or vows. The "Grand" has a package like that but it's just going to be us...and maybe a couple of friends??? Basically, something simple, with candles and roses. I do want a videographer and photographer. And, I have no idea who I'd go to either to do my hair and make-up (but a resort should have a salon). A recommendation for that however, would be great...this is the day I should look exceptionally beautiful so I'm nervous to go somewhere I've never been and unfamiliar with not knowing what I'm going to look like afterwards! =) We want to vacation there so why not elope there too! And due to cost of travel for friends and family, we've decided that eloping while vacationing would be lovely and then we'd have a reception with everyone here in our home town and leave the reception celebration on our boat during a popular August boating event. =) Now that I've provided some of the details of what we've decided, I could use some help or suggestions on how we can make this happen! Cost is a factor...especially with a new baby on the way (but at least I have LOTS of air travel miles which should take care of our airfare)! I'm terrible at planning vacations, let alone one that would involve a wedding ceremony! Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences, and providing suggestions and recommendations (hopefully based on experience!) to make our special day amazing in paradise!
Do travel prices change through out the day? I've been looking online for trips to Hawaii and every time I check back the prices seem to keep going up. I realize they are usually less expensive the farther out they are booked, but I'm talking about hourly changes. This morning I found a package to a Hilton for $800 a person, with the cheapest hotels being around $550 a person. This afternoon the cheapest were around 650, and now (7pm) prices are at 710 a person. Just for comparison I looked a week beyond when I want to go and the prices were within a few bucks, so it seems as though the prices change hourly. Is this the case or did prices just go sky high all the sudden? If they do change hourly, when can I expect to find the lowest prices? I have been looking at the usual travel sites such as expedia, orbitz, and yahoo travel.
How can i look for this?? I am looking into going to Hawaii...but i want to do it through a vacation package...what are some travel agencies that deal with hawaii?
Vacation Advise..... So I have heard....? Are all enclusive packages really worth it? I heard beaches and sandals were poor companies to abide by! Eventually I would like to vacation to Hawaii (for example)! What are some companies, travel agencies, enclusive packages, etc... Well worth my while as well as my dollar! This would be one of my first traveling experiences that I would like to extend over a few days to a week or more! Anyother time I have traveled I have had friends to stay with... In this case not so much! Any advise?
Why so expensive? - travel and shipping from Vietnam? OK, so I live in Taiwan. I bought an instrument a month ago from Hawaii. It came in three days. FAST. Tracking and everything. It even came on a typhoon day which is supposed to be a non-work day... It cost me $59 US. So I've been looking at another one from Vietnam. The guy quoted me $60 bucks US for shipping and I scratched my head going - well it's half the distance... why would it be the same amount. So we talked and I started doing some checking with the dimensions and weight and... WOW! Fedex is $125+ DHL is $253!!!!! (they were willing to give me 10% off if I signed a contract to send one package a month... even though he knew before I told him that Fedex would do it for half the price with no special requests) Why on earth would it be so expensive to bring something from Vietnam to Taiwan? I thought I could look into air fares and WOW. They are TERRIBLE. $850 bucks is the cheapest. $1200 bucks with most airlines... It cost me less than that to go back home to Canada - a 14 hour flight! Why is it like this? What is going on? Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks. If gas were the reason, it would cost more to send something to Hawaii or Canada or somewhere else in the US. The opposite is true. Customs charges are only in effect in the country where it is heading to (Taiwan in this case) in every case of international shipping I've heard of. I've been living overseas for 6 years, so not exactly a stranger to this. Good info on the DHL vs FedEx. Still trying to understand the exorbitant cost of Fedex though... I asked some Vietnamese this evening at a local restaurant and they seemed to think that there is some manner of conflict between Vietnam's government and TW's gov, but I don't think this is the case (there are virtually no flights connecting the two countries). Nor would it explain why all other countries feel the extreme price hike on anything going in or out of Vt. Gotta feel for the Vietnamese folk who might want to ship some family heirlooms or something...
Financing a honeymoon? I am getting married next june. Wed love to go to Hawaii, but I dont have the cash to spend on that right now, and I dont want to put it on a credit card. Do travel agencys finance packaged vacations?
Who should I use to book a destination wedding? Ideally, I'd like an all-inclusive resort with a wedding package. We're hoping to stay in the US, so maybe Hawaii, Florida or California. Looking for a good website (like a travelocity) or a helpful travel agent. Thanks!
Have you taken a “packaged vacation to Maui”? And if so where did you stay/ Did you like it? What is included…flight, hotel, etc??? How do you get from air port to hotel and back again when you check out…is that included in you final cost?? We have NEVER taken a packaged vacation and need specifics. I asked a question Sat on Hawaii and it was most helpful on which island to stay at…now I need more info from people who have taken a ‘packaged’ trip. I have looked at .com travel sites, but still need help. Thanks in advance.

Honeymoon options: Fiji or Asia? Here's the thing: we had our 2 week honeymoon all booked for Hawaii and Mexico, except there's all this political turmoil going on in Mexico now so we've decided to cancel that part. From Hawaii, should we go to Fiji (bonus: direct flight, only 6 hours, probably amazing experience) or somewhere in Asia, like Thailand or China? (drawback: no direct flights to China, 15 hours total travel time, same as going from NYC where we live. Thailand has an even longer connection time. Although the bonus is, they are both much cheaper)? Any advice? We don't want to get bored on our honeymoon, so I'm thinking Fiji and Hawaii might be too similar. Also, Fiji is pretty expensive, the package would take up everything we got back from Mexico, although that was all inclusive and this would not be. Thanks!
