i want to know if you have to take any special college classes? do you even have to go to college? and what kind of salary do they make?

There are lots of special courses available to become a travel agent, which will train you in travel jargon, how to use the Internet to book an airline ticket, hotel or car rental and other services for your client, how to use Global Distribution Systems such as Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre etc used for such reservations, destination information etc. In addition, you can also take the Foundation Course offered by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) which is recognized worldwide. Salaries depend upon the size of the company you'll work for and the functions you'll be assigned.
The lady above is 100% right , the best place to study is with IATA as they are worldwide recognised. When it comes to salaries in the Trave Industry they are not very attractive , you purely look forward to the perks of the industry ie travel educationals / agents discounts on flights & accommodation.
