How can you find out if you have been taken by a travel agency and get my money back? How do I find out?

I pre-paid for a vacation package to Orlando Fl and now my friends are telling me its a company that deals in High Pressure Time Shares.

Seems you should have started out by asking these qustions.
Been there, done that -- and it's not really so bad. You're supposed to sit through their marketing shpiels while there, but actually can bail out of some. Well before you go, make sure to research some fun stuff to do while you're there, aside from the vacation package. Then do that stuff. It can be a relatively cheap vacation, actually. Just don't get caught up in their "deals."
My boyfriend did the same thing he pre-paid for a vacation. I researched and all I got were bad comments about timeshare presentations if he did not go to the presentation he would have to pay for all the expenses that he paid in advanced. I also read that those discount vacation are at the end more expensive than a self-planned vacation. We didn't take the deal, he lost that advanced payment.
