Certified Travel Agent?

I'm looking to become a travel agent and am trying to inform myself more about this field. What do I need to do to become a travel agent? Are there special courses to take? What do I need to do? I know I won't be rich but I hope to live comfortably. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to become a travel agent? Thank you.

2. No I am not a travel agent, but I seen that you were looking to become an entrepreneur, and that's the route I'm taking in life. If you are looking for a partner in that field, than I' m the person!
3. The above answers are correct in that the bricks and mortar travel agencies are near extension. If you go to work for a travel agency, don't plan on making much money. Even many owners don't make much. What you might look into is starting an online travel store through a host agency. My wife and I did that and we are glad we did. You don't have all of the headaches of starting from scratch and you get lots of support. We absolutely love this business!
